this was the last painting completed in my graduate studio at UH that I had left un-stretched until I moved into my own studio in August 2025. the final, stretched piece was my first completed painting after moving in.

Rachel Hecker always encouraged me to use ‘ugly colors’ in my paintings, hence the color palette. I figured my last piece as a student should fully lean into her suggestion.
